Capacity building in Logistics Education for Economic Development

LEARN Logistics strives to support universities and its affiliated institutes and units in the field of logistics and supply chain management (LSCM) by improving their organizational knowhow and competences. A university as a body of outstanding expertise and source for innovation and constant advancement, will greatly contribute to the permanent development and sustainable growth of LSCM operations in low- and middle-income countries. LEARN aims to assist in building up institutional capacities in higher education and professional trainings that will be embedded into the countries national qualification framework and educational system to ensure a constant and independent source of highly trained logisticians. Of particular importance to LEARN is the integration of universities with non-academic units from the region, i.e., with professional logistics bodies, with commercial companies from all sectors, and with various not-for profit organizations. The objective is to establish a joint force to teach students, young and senior professionals, as well as managers with the best of both worlds, i.e., from theory and from practice, and to enable a seamless transition from graduation to the job market.
