Thesis Support
Description and Eligibility for Funding
LEARN Logistics supports students during their final study period when they write their theses at undergraduate (Bachelor) or postgraduate (Master)-level. The funding shall ensure the high quality of theses and enable students to collect primary and secondary date to fulfil the academic requirements concerning the statistical accuracy, for example. The thesis funding for eligible students may comprise the following items:
- Purchase/rental of necessary software/hardware (e.g., statistical software SPSS, survey software, etc…)
- Data collection package, e.g., to collect data from other regions or multiple company venues; or to involve numerators to collect additional data
- Transport allowance for excessive travel
- Printing allowance
- Other reasonable expenses if agreed prior
LEARN Logistics and the partnering university will determine if students can apply for lumpsum amounts, or if numerous single components will be funded needs based.
Due to the potentially high number of applications for thesis funding, LEARN Logistics applies a collaboration model with universities. As part of that model, the supported university and LEARN Logistics jointly determine if a specific study program at under- or postgraduate level will be selected to offer financial thesis support to certain student cohorts. Besides the financial support, LEARN Logistics together with the university also aim to offer topics for theses and potential organizational partners with which a student can write its thesis (e.g., apply the case study method and address a problem identified by an organization; and collect primary data from within that company). As a result:
