For Individuals – Benefit Types in Higher Education – For Students

Summer/ Autumn School Participation

Description and Eligibility

Summer Schools (may also be named Spring or Autumn School) provide an opportunity for students from our supported universities to connect with students from other national or international universities. LEARN Logistics supports the exchange of knowledge and student experience across the supported universities and provides financial scholarships to enable selected students the participation in such great events.

LEARN Logistics generally supports three types of Summer Schools:

Summer School Type 1

LEARN together with one or more of its supported universities will organize a joint Summer School. The venue, duration, topics, and program will be determined jointly by the organizational committee. Each participating university will inform its students who are eligible to participate – and will further design and apply the selection process. Applications from outside of the university or eligible study programs are unable to participate unless specifically invited by the organizers or LEARN Logistics.

Summer School Type 2

LEARN Logistics collaborates closely with Kühne Logistics University (klu.org). Every year, KLU offers an international Summer School at its venue in Hamburg, Germany, and for the duration between one and three weeks. The Summer School usually targets undergraduate students and LEARN Logistics will sponsor a limited number of places for students from its supported universities. Due to the potentially high number of applications and limited number of available places, LEARN Logistics decided to apply a lottery system for the selection of the students who can attend the annual KLU Summer School. Every undergraduate student from an eligible Logistics and Supply Chain related program from LEARN Logistics supported universities will automatically be considered in the annual lottery carried out by LEARN Logistics. Each university will provide the list of students to LEARN Logistics from which the winning students for the Summer School Scholarships will be drawn.

LEARN Logistics will not address any pro-active application for the sponsoring of attending the KLU Summer School due to the described procedure that is already active. The winning students for the KLU Summer School Scholarship will be informed automatically by LEARN Logistics and its university.

Summer School Type 3

LEARN Logistics may provide scholarships to students who have pro-actively identified a targeted Summer School they wish to attend. Please see the next sectionApplication and Funding Conditions of how to apply for financial support by LEARN Logistics. The Summer School, a student wishes to attend must related to the theme of logistics and supply chain management, be delivered by a reputable university and provide a specific program for the duration of the event.

Generally, all already enrolled students from the LEARN Logistics supported study programs are eligible to be considered for the Summer School funding. Therefore, please consider that LEARN Logistics currently offers Summer Scholarship types 1-3 only to students from the following universities. Please note that not all the listed universities always offer funding by LEARN Logistics and for all study programs. The amount of available funding for Summer School Scholarships is generally limited.
