About the lecturer: Professor Adegoke Oke is a Professor of Supply Chain Management, the Chair of the SCM department and Chair of Hal E. Fearon Distinguished Fellow Committee at the W.P. Carey School of Business, Arizona State University, USA where he teaches courses in strategic procurement, technology and innovation management, operations management and global supply chain management. He is a world authority on innovation management and global supply chain management and his research focuses on supply chain management, supply disruptions and innovation management practices in manufacturing, services and supply chain organizations. He obtained a Ph.D. in Operations and Supply Chain Management from Cranfield University’s School of Management, U.K. He has published over 40 top-tier academic articles and written over 140 conference papers. He was an associate editor of the Journal of Operations Management from 2007 – 2013; he is currently an associate editor of the International Journal of Operations and Production Management and editorial board member of the Journal of Supply Chain Management and Journal of Manufacturing Technology Management. His book, “Practical Innovation” was published by XanEdu in 2019. He has been widely sought to comment on topical issues by news media and is a visiting professor at several universities including Lagos Business School, Nigeria, Manufacturing Institute, UK, Sejong University, South Korea; KNUST, Ghana; CEIBS, Ghana; UTM, Malaysia and Monterrey Tech, Mexico. He is also an extra-ordinary professor of the University of Pretoria, South Africa.
Before entering academia, Professor Oke was a project engineer and manager for more than eight years with Shell, Nigeria where he became a chartered engineer. Professor Oke is currently a Senior Technical Advisor to Center for Applied Research & Innovation in Supply Chain – Africa, a Co-Director of Frontier Economies Logistics Lab (FELL) at ASU, a honorary member of the Africa Resource Center and a Research Advisor to Kuehne Foundation. He has taught executive development programs and consulted for several firms around the world including Virgin Atlantic, AXA Insurance Company, Halifax Bank of Scotland, Royal and Sun Alliance, Cryovac, British American Tobacco and Fujitsu Ltd., all in the U.K.; Chemonics, Skanska, Boeing, Chevron and Avnet, all in the USA and Masterstrokes and Shell in Nigeria.
Eligibility:
PhD candidates with a scholarship from LEARN Logistics from partner universities of LEARN Logistics as well as invited PhD candidates are eligible to apply. Registration does not entitle you to participate. Only those PhD candidates who have received a corresponding confirmation from LEARN Logistics after registration can participate.
