PhD Seminar "Modelling in Supply Chain Management" (8-12 Dec. 2025)
08.12. – 12.12.2025 · Addis Ababa University / hybrid
Lecturer
Prof. Dr. Walid Klibi
The course starts by discussing current supply chain design and transportation challenges, and it examines the decisions related to production-distribution facilities, transportation means, and externalization decisions. It then gradually introduces a modelling framework that can be used to optimize network structures, starting with basic design problems. Finally, transportation means and route choice, capacity planning issues, supply chain design problems under uncertainty are then examined. The model-based design approach is supported with appropriate computer-aided analysis and modelling tools.
